We Are a Community of Bikers

A strong community of riders led by local clubs like Routt County Riders and Steamboat Velo, and outdoor industry leaders like Smartwool, Point 6, Big Agnes, Honey Stinger, Inside Out PR, Moots Cycles and Eriksen Cycles—all who call Steamboat home.

In Bike Town, USA® cycling is engrained in our community and lifestyle. We believe it’s Best When Ridden.

Whether you’re an elite mountain biker, a former Tour de France racer, or a family cruiser, Steamboat has your interest and skill level covered, as well as a group of friends to connect with. Check out the links below for more info about our local clubs and organizations.

Routt County Riders, a non-profit IMBA Chapter. They are a volunteer-based, membership-driven organization. As a bicycle advocacy group, they offer input to and through numerous governmental agencies including:  CDOT, Northwest Transportation Region, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Routt County, the City of Steamboat Springs, the Emerald Mountain Partnership, and others.  RCR works to advocate for, promote, and enhance all forms of cycling on trails, roads, and pathways in Routt County.

A board, consisting of a land manager from the city, USFS, BLM, and State Parks, as well as an appointee of the Steamboat Springs Chamber president and two citizens with diversified trail interests appointed by YVCF, will determine trail maintenance priorities and projects each year, based on need. Funds are distributed to the land manager who determines how best to conduct the trail maintenance. The purpose of the Fund is to provide a permanent endowment to support specific non-motorized trail and trailhead maintenance projects on public lands within the current geographical boundaries of Routt and Moffat Counties.
