Research has shown that moderate exercise like walking or pedaling is not only good for the body, but also promotes brain development and learning. Fewer cars on the road means our kids get to enjoy a better environment over the long term, too. Not to mention that getting out for a stroll or a pedal is just plain fun as well!
And who doesn’t love getting to skip a few classes, or for that matter, a few hours at the office, to go ride bikes? Mark your calendars for this year’s Bike Rodeo on May 29 at Strawberry Park Elementary!
Parents, if you haven’t already, consider volunteering! It is arguably one of the most rewarding days of the year, to watch hundreds of kids learn something new. For some it will be the first time they are able to ride a bike! The days are broken into 3 time slots. Sign up for as many as possible, it takes a lot of volunteers to put on this event. Don’t ride a bike? No, problem. Most jobs do not require bikes. Lunch will be provided for those who volunteer all day. Thanks Backcountry Deli!
